Camshaft Lamp

I have a box full of old car and bike parts. Not all old parts. Just ones that may be able to be used for something cool. One of those things is my camshaft lamp. What else do you do with an old camshaft out of a Grand Prix?

The base is an old disk brake. I found a scrap piece of metal and my wonderful fiance used a plasma cutter to get me a circle. This was then welded in the opening and painted flat black. You could do this with less fancy tools, it will just take more time.

You can buy lamp kits at any hardware store. I used some 2 part putty to hold the light base on the top. Since my lamp was going against a wall I just ran the cord down the back. If you don't want to do that you will have to find a machine shop who can.

That's it. Sorry I don't have any assembly pictures. I made it over a year ago.
